Illuminating Decades of Women Artists Project

The Long Beach Museum of Art has partnered with photographer Gabriela Marquez to create a digital archive of its permanent collection of 271 women artists. The resulting website will increase visibility and appreciation for the museum's collection, and will provide a resource to scholars, curators and the public.

This project is funded by a 2019 Museums for America Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). It will enable the museum to create and maintain online assets that highlight the diversity of their collection, which includes painting, sculpture, enamel, wood and more.
