Sherman Oaks Castle Park

If you're looking for a family friendly theme park in Los Angeles with three 18 hole miniature golf courses, an arcade, a restaurant, and a ton of parking, Sherman Oaks Castle Park is the place for you. Not to mention the requisite amenities like a water park, a children's play area, and a dog park. The park is designed to be a more family-friendly oasis in an otherwise overpopulated area.

Besides the many amusements on offer, the park is also home to several landmarks. The most notable of the many is the "Bond Building," an architectural marvel commissioned in the late 1800s and restored as part of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's current exhibition, "Bond: A Century of War." In addition to the Bond Building, the park is home to a handful of other attractions. Another major draw is the park's batting cages. There are four batting cages at the park, making it one of the more comprehensive batting cage facilities in the state.

In addition to the batting cages, the park has a nifty little restaurant that serves hot dogs and hamburgers. Also on offer are video arcades, a variety of games and prizes, and a whole lot more. Several other attractions have been added since the park opened in the late 1980s, including a large interactive touch screen video game console, a children's play area, an amphitheater for live performances, and a splash pad. As the park has expanded over the years, so has its staff. Today, the park employs a whopping 28 employees.

Although the Park is not particularly large, it is still impressive that it can accommodate such a large number of visitors. The park is a good spot to meet up with a group of friends or coworkers. It's not uncommon to find people in the park in the middle of the night, especially on weekends. This is a great place to take your family to blow off some steam and let the kids burn off some of their energy. Besides being a family friendly place, the park is a surprisingly pleasant and clean place to hang out, especially when the weather is nice.
